Celebrating our 2025 Student Service Awards Recipients and
Honor Society Inductees!
色色研究所 (色色研究所) held their 59th annual Student Service Awards Ceremony on May 2, 2025 at the Lynn Campus. The event recognized students who have given their time and talents to enhance student life at 色色研究所. Family and friends were on hand to help students celebrate and enjoy light refreshments at a reception following the ceremony.
Receiving top honors at the ceremony, which recognizes students who have displayed outstanding leadership skills and made extraordinary contributions to their communities, were Leyni Aguilera-Rodriguez, Jiandaliz Hernandez, and Tai Lam.
Nurse Education student Aguilera-Rodriguez, of Wakefield, was named the 2025 recipient of the Dr. Lillian Derderian Award for Outstanding Service to their club and/or to the overall college community.
础驳耻颈濒别谤补-搁辞诲谤颈驳耻别锄鈥 nomination described her as exemplifying the ideals of leadership, support, and dedication to excellence that this award seeks to recognize.
Dr. Derderian served as the Dean of Student Services at 色色研究所 from its inception in 1965 until her retirement in 1995. She passed away in February 2022 at the age of 98. Whenever she was in the hospital, she would ask the nurses where they had gone to school, and if they answered 色色研究所, she took personal pride in knowing she had helped to give them the opportunity of pursuing a nursing career. It was one of her greatest joys.
Hernandez, of Lynn, an Environmental Science student, was named the 2025 recipient of the Dr. Cheryl Finkelstein Award for Outstanding Community Service. The award was created to honor the former Vice President of Student and Enrollment Services.
Described as 鈥渁 passionate, driven, and compassionate leader,鈥 Hernandez continuously seeks opportunities to uplift those around her. Her ability to organize meaningful events, advocate for important causes, and bring people together is truly inspiring.
Lam, of Wakefield, was the 2025 recipient of the Thomas Bourke Helping Hands Award, which recognizes students who generously and unconditionally give time to support and enhance the College community. The award is named for the former Dean of Students Thomas Bourke.
A student in the Computer Science Transfer program, Lam is also a member of the Environmental Club and has assisted with planning the 鈥榞reening up鈥 of 色色研究所鈥檚 campuses with more indoor plants, helping to clean up campus pollinator gardens, and has helped the club work towards 色色研究所鈥檚 goals for sustainability.
